The part worth understanding

One rate per period, both directions.

Solar rates are often sold as though you buy low and sell high. In Alberta you do not. Under net billing the power you import and the power you export are priced the same as each other, and the only question is which price the period lands on.

That is why 35¢ on the power you buy is not the catch it looks like. In a period where your exported kilowatt hours outnumber your imported ones, the bigger rate on both sides leaves you further ahead than the smaller one would. When winter flips the balance, the schedule flips too, and your imports go back to 5.45¢.

Your bi-directional meter records what you draw from the grid and what your panels send back. At the end of each billing period FLUX compares the two. Export more than you imported and the whole period settles at 35¢ per kWh. Import more and it settles at 5.45¢. It is decided again from scratch every period.
Yes. SunWise is symmetric. In a 35¢ period the electricity you pull from the grid is charged at 35¢ and the electricity you send back is credited at 35¢. In a 5.45¢ period both sides settle at 5.45¢. You are never billed on one rate and credited on another.
Because in a period where you exported more than you imported, the credits outweigh the charges. Applying the higher rate to both sides of that period leaves you further ahead than the low rate would. When the balance flips in winter, the schedule flips with it.
No. Some Alberta retailers run separate fixed and seasonal solar plans and expect you to spot the crossover and phone in, usually twice a year. Miss the timing and a period where you exported more than you used settles on the schedule built for the opposite case. SunWise decides on your meter data instead.
Your 35¢ rate goes up with them. A SunWise term secures your LO rate: 5.45¢ for 1 year, 5.85¢ for 2 years, or 6.25¢ for 3 years. Your HI rate works differently. It never goes below the rate you signed up at, and when FLUX raises its posted HI rate, every SunWise customer moves to the higher rate automatically, starting with the billing period already in progress. No call, no form, no renewal. The HI rate only applies in periods where you exported more than you used, so a higher HI rate means a larger credit.
The Pre-Solar Rate holds 5.45¢ per kWh for up to 180 days if you have a signed solar installation agreement and your site is not yet energized. It converts to SunWise automatically, on a 1 year term, the day your distribution company recognizes the site as a micro-generator. Prefer a 2 or 3 year term? Email billing@fluxenergy.ca. Any installer's agreement qualifies; it does not have to be a FLUX Renewables system.
Not on approved credit, solar or otherwise. Enrolling on SunWise carries the same terms as any other FLUX plan: no deposit or prudential (OAC), and no exit fee.
No. SunWise carries no exit fee. When a SunWise term ends you continue on SunWise for another 12 months at the posted HI and LO rates, so you keep the solar rate without lifting a finger, and we write to you 60 days before it happens. The only retailer charge on the bill is the $0.31 per day administration charge, billed per meter.
